The Study on The Foreign Student Drinking Behavior in Korea

Abstract

|
This study was conducted with two hundred eleven the Chinese foreign students who studied at several universities in Daegu and Kyung-Buk area in South Korea. during three months from May, 1. 2007 to July 31 2007.The results of this study were summarized as follows.1) The foreign student’s drinking expectation is high as 3.69 based on 5 point. 2) The acting problems caused by drinking is as low as 2.09. The dormitory residence student is less exposed to the alcohol trouble than the student boarder. 3) The practical person efficacy value is as high as 3.29. and it is affected by the sex, the scholastic degree, the residence, the regious life, the college life satisfaction and the department participant. 4) Among the drinking factor value, the susceptibility (-0.317), the difficulty (-0.356), the beneficial (0.313), self-into-action (0.376). Theses factors are relatively high as above 0.3. Therefore the most drinking problems’ factors of foreign students in Korea are the religion life and the department participation in university and social life. To reduce the drinking alcohol problems, the foreign students should be educated about the risk of alcohol and joining in the religion activity and the department activities.
